Here are some things I would like input on:
Ideas for extra-curricular activities, we talked a little bit about this last week, do you like the ones we have? Are there others you would like to see?
Web Casts or a Web Seminar, Do you know anyone who is good at this kind of thing that might be willing to help?
Sound Byte size description of what the school does, What do we tell our family and friends when we describe the school?
Teaching parents how to use the curriculum, Do you know how to use it?
Getting Dr. Kimber on the radio
Biography of the Kimbers and the history of the Kimber Academies
We will be having a Book of Mormon Read-a-thon on January 1-2. This will be a time that we will get together and have special guest speakers read the Book of Mormon aloud to the students, while they read along. This has been a great event in the past and I anticipate that it will be another event that the students won't forget.
At the student council meeting the council members asked if they could host a dance for the other schools.
The student council is responsible for doing some service project as a student council each month. We will also be doing a school service project to benefit the community quarterly. The first school wide service project will be in December and will involve making Christmas Cards for a nursing home and then caroling at the nursing home to the residents. We did this last year and it was an amazing experience for both the residents and the students. There were many tears of love and joy shed.

Welcome
Hello Parent Council,
I am excited to be able to work with such a unique, varied and talented group of people. I hope that this blog will be something useful, that allows us to discuss and work together to build a school and an atmosphere where our students can truly reach their ultimate potential. Thank you for your support and help.
